“30 Rock” Embezzlement Charges

Just in time for the 68th Annual Golden Globe awards last Sunday, news came through that a former accountant for the hit show “30 Rock” has been charged with embezzlement. Accountant Matthew Rudolph has been charged with running up more than $13,000 of false expenses on company credit cards and expense reimbursements. He is denying the allegations and NBC is refusing to comment but internal reviews indicate that Rudolph forged his supervisor’s initials to falsely authorize unrelated expenses as well as including unrelated reciepts so that the expenditures listed were unsupported. Many reciepts appeared to be modified with portions whited out.

If convicted, Rudolph, age 35, faces seven years in prison for theft, forgery and falsifying business records. What did Rudolph allegedly gain? Fancy dinners and a Sony Playstation.

Read more about the case here and here.
