Abba Blum

Abba J. Blum, CPA leads the Firm’s Real Estate Industry Services group. He joined the Firm in 1989 and has spent over 20 years in the industry. Abba earned his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Accounting and a Bachelor’s of Art in Economics from the University of Maryland in 1989. Abba’s clients include residential and commercial real estate developers, homebuilders, property managers, mortgage bankers, and construction contractors.

Abba specializes in auditing and assurance services as well as income tax rules related to the acquisition, financing, syndication and operation of real estate development. As an expert in the field, he has made various presentations to real estate groups including the Washington Building Congress, National Association of Homebuilders and other associations on topics that include information technology, tax minimization strategies and cash flow management.

Abba has also provided articles for such organizations as the National Association of Home Builders and Associated Builders and Contractors. He is the past chair of the Information Technology Committee of the Washington Building Congress.  As an active member of the community, Abba was appointed Vice President of the Jewish Foundation of Group Homes and serves on the Board of Directors for the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, DC.  Additionally, Abba is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Green Acres School in Rockville, Maryland and serves as its Treasurer.
